Got called to repair gate motor – but the gate motor was not the problem.
Surface mount sliding gate rail. This rail was installed many years ago. The gate and motor operating the gate running on this rail was giving constant problems and the client was fed-up with other gate repair services. They wanted a permanent fix. Gate wheels replace multiple times but never replaced the rigged rail.
Replacing the rail solved many gate motor problems. 16mm round bar and the correct gate wheels made the gate quite, easy to move and no bumps.
New radius cut sliding gate wheels fits perfectly on the 16mm mild steel round bar I installed for the gate as a rail.
Securing the rail was tricky. Previous installation blocked storm water flow and huge puddles of water did not flow causing thhe gate to roll through water most of the time – I fixed that as it plays an important roll to maintenance intervals on the gate and gate wheels.
I rewired the whole system and got rid of connected wired that served no purpose.
